Why have groups?
Here at GBC, we pursue spiritual growth and discipleship through small groups. We strive for 100% involvement in these groups. Mentorship is a core value and the primary way we develop leaders within the church. The intent with our groups ministry is to emulate the model of our Lord Jesus in equipping those who would change the world. This ties in with our overall mission of giving people the opportunity to become fully developing followers of Jesus Christ.
How do groups work?
GBC offers discipleship groups in 8-10 week semesters followed by a few weeks off before a new semester begins. This tension and release pattern keeps everything and everyone fresh and enhances our focus as we pursue our study. When a group gathers, we get to know one another and just talk about our day and how God is working in our lives. We get into a guided discussion of our curriculum. Then, we have a time of prayer together. Since the Christian life cannot be fully experienced in isolation, groups give us a venue for deepening relationships and helping one another grow in our relationship with Christ. Groups are often the vehicle through which the church conducts community outreach and missions activities.
What's next?
You can sign up today for our growth groups semester that begins in February. We will be doing a study adapted from The Tabernacle: Camping with God by Stephen F. Olford. We have a book for you. Participation in the group is free, and you can use the link below if you would like to donate toward the cost of your book. You can sign up using the form below, and we will contact you with next steps. You can complete a separate registration for each participant in the family. This is going to be a great insightful study as part of our journey through the Old Testament this year.
