Grace Baptist Fayetteville Staffing Plan
Approved by the congregation in conference 08/26/2018
Overview
The purpose of this document is to record in written form the intended direction of staffing Grace Baptist Church to fulfill its Great Commission mandate. This written record will align the church’s staffing expectations behind a unified vision. Should the Lord use unforeseen circumstances in attendance, giving, and the outside community, updates to this plan should pass through the Personnel Committee and then the church. This public version does not include the benchmarks that were presented to the congregation. This version includes the first three years of the plan; the church approved unanimously the full five-year plan.
Full-Time Assistant Pastor (aka Worship Pastor)
Timeframe: Filled May 1, 2019
The function of this position is to contribute to the growth of the church by assisting the Senior Pastor in the multifaceted aspects of his position. The most critical areas of focus will be music, children, and youth, but other areas will also be addressed. Over time, the position will become more specialized as other staff are added. A significant benefit in filling this position will be the reopening of the church office on a regular schedule.
Part-Time Secretary
Timeframe: +/- 1 Year
The function of this position is to relieve the pastoral staff of administrative tasks and to contribute to the overall smooth functioning of the church office. We will want to be in position to hire a solid candidate, preferably with relevant experience.
Full-Time Assistant Pastor (aka Groups Pastor)
Timeframe: +/- 2-3 Years
The function of this position will be to form and oversee an effective small groups ministry for discipling young adults. The individual will select curriculum for groups, enlist and train group facilitators, and promote the groups ministry toward 100% involvement. As a minister, this individual will share those tasks that are spread evenly among the pastoral staff such as outreach, visitation, and general ministry. The role of the Assistant Pastor will shift here toward the specialization mentioned earlier, and it is possible that part-time ministerial staff would be added not only to meet the needs of the church but also to help train future leaders for the Kingdom.
